Former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has accused Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) of supporting President Bola Tinubu on the electricity tariff hike, alleging that it is a move to decimate people with low incomes.

Sowore didn’t mince his words, as he also took a jab at Obi’s visit to Egypt prior to the 2023 general election.

He mocked Obi’s purported quest to learn about electricity generation and distribution methods, claiming that the visit was superficial, with Obi merely visiting a switchboard in one Egyptian power station before returning.

In a scathing social media post, Sowore criticized Obi and his ilk for their purported lack of understanding and empathy towards the plight of the common people.

He accused them of blindly adopting slogans and policies without genuine comprehension or concern for the masses.

“These guys are just so dumb that they wake up and ‘copy and paste’ slogans from other climes,” Sowore remarked, highlighting what he sees as a shallow approach to governance and policy-making.

He went on to question the sincerity behind Obi’s call to “tax the rich,” insinuating that such measures only serve to further burden the poor while benefiting the affluent.
