Breaking news from Lagos: Bobrisky, the well-known cross-dresser and social media influencer in Nigeria, has been sentenced to six months in prison with no option of fine by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court.
The judgement was delivered this morning, April 12, following Bobrisky’s confession to the crime of Naira Abuse. Initially facing a six-count charge including Money Laundering, the court dismissed the latter and convicted him for Abuse of the Naira.
Bobrisky was remanded in EFCC detention in Lagos after the court’s ruling. The judgement hearing was adjourned to April 9 but postponed due to the Eid-Fitri public holiday.
