Nigerian afrobeat singer Yemi Alade has expressed her dissatisfaction to the increasing economic issues affecting the nation’s citizens.

Alade shared her disappointment on social media over growing problems such rising living expenses, petrol prices, and electricity tariffs

She pointed out the polarizing nature of internet conversation and its disdain for urgent issues impacting millions of Nigerians, criticizing Nigerians for focusing on celebrity feuds and social media arguments instead of demanding government responsibility.

Reacting, Alade posted on her account that :“Electricity tariffs and fuel are at a 400% increase. Naira to $ is dancing alanta. The weather is unbearably hot.

“People are busy being wicked to each other with daily increases in prices. Salaries have not been increased. Afrobeat artists are making the mess, and you’re picking sides instead of facing our government.”
