“Tinubu Must Act for Nigeria’s Sake — Senator Ibrahim Demands Cabinet Shake-Up

Senator Jimoh Ibrahim representing Ondo South senatorial district has called for the immediate dissolution of President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet, citing the need for a more competent and dynamic team to tackle Nigeria’s pressing challenges.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Senator Ibrahim, a member of the Senate Appropriation Committee, expressed his concerns about the performance of President Tinubu’s ministers, describing them as “too cold” and lacking in the requisite expertise to navigate the country’s economic landscape effectively.

According to Senator Ibrahim, the current cabinet does not meet the standards required to address the complex issues facing Nigeria, particularly in light of the prevailing economic conditions since President Tinubu assumed office..

He emphasized the importance of bringing in knowledgeable individuals who can offer innovative solutions and drive meaningful progress across various sectors.

 “You have to dissolve the cabinet. You have to come up with knowledgeable people. The cabinet is too cold.”

Senator Ibrahim urged President Tinubu to prioritize competence and merit in appointing new cabinet members, emphasizing the need to include individuals with proven track records of success and a deep understanding of the challenges facing the nation.

He warned of the consequences of retaining underperforming ministers, stressing that failure to overhaul the cabinet could exacerbate the country’s woes and undermine efforts to achieve sustainable development.

Ibrahim said the ministers do not fall in the country’s ‘Grade A’ and are not the best for Nigerians considering the economic situation of the country since the inauguration of President Tinubu.

He added: “If you fail to do that, you will be carrying their burdens and that will be terrible for our country. You have to dissolve the cabinet, you have to come up with knowledgeable people, the cabinet is too cold and some of them accused of corruption should be dropped.
