Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently intervene in the escalating political crisis in Rivers State to prevent a potential bloodbath

In a statement released on Friday by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Primate Ayodele expressed grave concerns over the ongoing conflict between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and his successor, Governor Sim Fubara.

He warned that if the situation is not properly managed, it could lead to political assassinations and widespread violence.

Primate Ayodele specifically urged Wike to show restraint and maturity, advising him to cease his confrontations with Governor Fubara. He emphasized that Fubara’s position is divinely ordained, suggesting that attempts to unseat him would be futile.

“President Tinubu should intervene in Rivers’ politics to prevent political assassinations and bloodshed,” Ayodele stated. “The president must act impartially to avoid an insurrection that could have severe repercussions for Nigeria as a whole.”

He described the ongoing conflict as an “unnecessary comedy” that could escalate if not promptly addressed. Ayodele called on both parties to de-escalate tensions and focus on constructive governance.

The prophet also cautioned Governor Fubara to remain focused on his administrative duties and to be wary of those around him, as they might be turned against him in the ongoing political tussle.

“Fubara shouldn’t reply to Wike. He has already overcome him. He should concentrate on governance and delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Rivers State,” Ayodele advised.

Primate Ayodele’s plea highlights the urgency of political stability in Rivers State and underscores the need for responsible leadership and conflict resolution to maintain peace and order in the region.
