Socio-political activist and Labour Party chieftain, Aisha Yesufu, has publicly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration following the commissioning of the newly built Vice President’s lodge

Yesufu took to social media to express her dissatisfaction, accusing the government of incompetence and wasteful spending.

In a post on X, Yesufu questioned the administration’s priorities, highlighting the alleged poor landscaping around the N21 billion structure.

She described the lodge as “shabby” and emblematic of the administration’s focus on rigging rather than governance.

“The incompetence is so glaring, even to themselves. How do you accept this shabby lawn? The N21 billion was not enough to cover landscaping? How do you come out of your house and the front is looking like a kids’ abandoned football field? Rigging is the only thing they know how to focus on,” Yesufu wrote.

The Vice President’s lodge was commissioned on Friday, with President Tinubu represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the event.

Tinubu defended the project, stating that providing a suitable residence for the Vice President symbolizes respect for both the office and the individual who occupies it.

He emphasized that the new lodge is part of the administration’s commitment to equipping leaders with the necessary tools and resources to effectively serve the Nigerian people with integrity and dedication.

President Tinubu also noted that the VP’s residence project had encountered numerous challenges, including delays and abandonment by previous administrations.”Rather than dwell on past shortcomings, we have chosen to seize this opportunity to demonstrate our resolve to confront obstacles head-on and deliver on the promises made to the Nigerian people in line with our Renewed Hope Agenda, which has the completion of inherited projects as one of its cardinal objectives,” he said
