President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to seize the opportunity of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to pray for the peace and stability of the country.

In a statement made available on Saturday by Ajuri Ngelale, presidential spokesperson, Tinubu implored the Muslim ummah to reflect on the quintessence of the celebration, which, he noted, connotes strong meaning and significance for the nation.

While extending congratulations to the Muslims in the country for the celebration, President Tinubu said sacrifice and duty are the fundamental ingredients of nation-building.

He also said that it takes collective aim and will to engender great change in the country.

Tinubu appreciated the sacrifices made by Nigerians in the past one year as his administration “sets the nation on a firm pedestal of growth and development”.

The president stated that the sacrifices “will not come to nought as already propitious outcomes are beginning to manifest with the economy strengthening”.

On June 7, Muhammad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, declared Sunday, June 16, as Eid-el-Kabir day after confirming  that Friday, June 14, is the first day of Dhul Hijjah.
