Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has noted a notable improvement in Northern Nigeria’s security situation under President Bola Tinubu compared to his predecessor Muhammadu Buhari..

During an address at the 40th anniversary and reunion of the ’84 set of the Kagara Old Boys Association, which includes alumni from the Government Science College in Kagara, Niger State, Sani emphasized the noticeable decline in terrorist attacks, particularly on schools, since Tinubu assumed office.

Sani highlighted that numerous schools in the North experienced terrorist attacks during Buhari’s administration.

“Under Buhari administration, we had a series of attacks on schools, including attacks on Green Field University, Kaduna, Bathel Baptist School, Kaduna, Government Science College, Kagara, Federal Government Girls’ College, Yauri, Federal School of Agricultural Mechanisation, Mando, Government Secondary School, Kankara, and Government Secondary School, Jangibe,” Sani recounted

The former lawmaker attributed the improved security situation to the elimination of several top terrorist leaders by security forces.

“There is every evidence that many of the top terrorists have been eliminated by our security forces,”

Sani noted. “If you compare what we are having today to what we had yesterday, it is still the best.”

He expressed optimism that the security challenges across the entire country would eventually be resolved, acknowledging the current administration’s efforts.

“The security challenges would be over in the whole country because what we have now is better than the one we had during the Buhari administration,” he asserted.
