Former spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar 2023 election campaign, Daniel Bwala, says he is no more a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He spoke during a chat with Channels TV’s Politics Today on Thursday.
Bwala disclosed that he is “very close” to joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I am not a member of the PDP. Yes, I have left the PDP,” he said.
“I am very close [to joining APC].”
He was the spokesperson for the PDP presidential campaign organisation during the 2023 election. Bwala was one of President Bola Tinubu’s notable critics during the electioneering time.
The politician, however, switched allegiance after Bola Tinubu became the president in mid-2023.
In January, Bwala paid a courtesy visit to President Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.
Barely a month later, Bwala met with the president again in France.
At one of his visits, the former Atiku aide said Tinubu exhibited a passion “to lead Nigeria out of the woods”.
He then confirmed his commitment to support Tinubu’s administration to succeed.
Bwala also said that if supporting Tinubu would take me to APC, “so be it”.
