Omoyele Sowore, an activist and former AAC presidential candidate, has strongly criticized the recent Council of State meeting held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting, which brought together current and former Nigerian leaders, including President Bola Tinubu and his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari, has been described by Sowore as a gathering of failed leadership.

The Council of State meeting, held on Tuesday, marked the first presided over by President Tinubu since he assumed office.

Former presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari were physically present at the meeting, while ex-Military Heads of State, General Yakubu Gowon and General Abdulsalami Abubakar, joined virtually.

However, former President Olusegun Obasanjo was notably absent, neither attending in person nor participating online.

During the meeting, President Tinubu received commendations from members of the Council of State, who voiced their support for his administration and criticized the ongoing EndBadGovernanceInNigeria movement, which has been critical of the current government.

In a post on the social media platform X, Sowore expressed his disdain for the meeting, labeling it a “failure meeting with failure.” He stated, “Today in Abuja at the Presidential Villa, a former failed President @MBuhari had a meeting with the current failed President @officialABAT.”
