Atletico Madrid’s João Félix is set to undergo medical examinations in the UK on Tuesday before his anticipated move to Chelsea.
The transfer follows an agreement reached between both clubs on Monday, finalizing a deal valued at up to £46.3 million.
Félix, who was notably absent from Atletico Madrid’s recent LaLiga fixture against Villarreal, is expected to sign a six-year contract with Chelsea.
The agreement includes an option for an additional year, potentially extending his stay at Stamford Bridge until 2031.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “João Félix day at Chelsea, plan confirmed. He’s travelling to London today for medical tests and contract signing, deal valid until June 2030. It will include an option for further years.”
Romano also noted the player’s enthusiasm about rejoining Chelsea, adding that the move has been fully agreed upon by Félix and his agent, Jorge Mendes.
The 24-year-old Portuguese forward initially joined Atletico Madrid in 2019 but spent the second half of the 2022-2023 season on loan at Chelsea.
