Victor Boniface, a Bayer Leverkusen forward, has reacted after being banned and fined €25,000 by the German Football Association for unsportsmanlike conduct during a recent Super Cup match.
The DFB confirmed the decision on Wednesday, stating that Boniface was penalized for making an obscene gesture towards Stuttgart players during post-match celebrations.
The forward was seen raising his middle finger, an action that the DFB deemed inappropriate, leading to the disciplinary measures.
Taking to social media, Boniface addressed his followers and issued a warning.
“If you bill me for the next three months, I fit block you. Let’s all be guided,” he wrote, signaling his intent to avoid any financial requests during this period.
The €25,000 fine, which is approximately N44 million, adds to the weight of the punishment.
Boniface’s ban means he will miss Leverkusen’s upcoming match, a blow to both the player and his team as they navigate the early stages of the season.
