Former Kogi west senator, Dino Melaye has accused the acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iliya Damagum, of ‘destroying’ the party.
Melaye, via a post on his X page on Saturday, claimed that Samuel Anyanwu, national secretary of the PDP with Umar Bature, national organising secretary, of leading the party to destruction.
The ex lawmaker said the three men have “commercialised and privatised” the party.
“End of the road for PDP as Damagum, Bature, and Anyanwu irredeemably destroyed the party,” Melaye wrote.
“We will talk about the commercialisation and privatisation of PDP. PDP is now once upon a time.”
Damagum assumed the position of PDP’s acting chair on March 28, 2023, after a court order prohibiting Iyorchia Ayu from continuing to lead the party.
Ayu was suspended by his ward in Benue state in prior to the 2023 polls.
The executive members of Igyorov ward in Gboko LGA, Benue state, had passed a vote of no confidence in the erstwhile senate president over alleged anti-party activities.
Back in April, Ayu withdrew the litigation challenging his ousting from office as national chair of the opposition party.
