Nigerian artist, Pryme, has found himself in a costly predicament as his latest music video, “Carry Go,” faces rejection from several TV stations due to alleged religious concerns.
The controversy centers around a scene in the video where dancers appear in Niqab/Hijab attire, which has sparked significant backlash.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Pryme expressed his frustration and disappointment, revealing the financial toll this setback has taken.
“Spent ₦15M on my ‘Carry Go’ music video, only to have it rejected by TV stations because of the dancers’ alleged Niqab/Hijab attire,” he wrote.
Pryme went on to disclose that he had to invest an additional ₦20M to reshoot the video, bringing the total expenditure to ₦35M.
“Now, another ₦20M spent to reshoot it. In this tough economy, are religious sentiments really worth it? 😒💔😭” he lamented.
The artist also clarified his stance on the matter, emphasizing that he does not support violence in any form. “NB: Violence is not supported,” he added.
The new version of the “Carry Go” video is expected to be released soon, as Pryme hopes to avoid further setbacks in his career.
