Jamie Carragher, former Liverpool captain, predicts that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will be fired before the end of the current season.
This prediction follows Manchester United’s disappointing 3-0 loss to Liverpool on Saturday.
The defeat marks United’s second loss in three games, leaving them in a precarious 14th place as they head into the international break.
Carragher, speaking on Sky Sports, compared Ten Hag’s situation to Jurgen Klopp’s third season at Liverpool.
“Ten Hag said in his interview ‘we will see where we are at the end of the season,’” Carragher noted.
“In Jurgen Klopp’s third season [at Liverpool], they were in a Champions League final, and you could see something building going forward. I would be surprised if he is still there at the end of the season.”
Ten Hag, who took over as Manchester United manager in 2022, has faced increasing pressure as the team’s performance continues to falter.
