Jamie O’Hara, a former Premier League midfielder, has expressed strong criticism of Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez following the club’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.
O’Hara criticized Fernandez, who arrived at Chelsea with a hefty price tag following a successful World cup campaign with Argentina.
Despite high expectations, the midfielder has struggled to make a significant impact in the Premier League.
“I am not having Enzo Fernandez,” O’Hara remarked. “I don’t think he is good enough.
“They paid a lot of money for him, £100 million, and they’ve made him the captain of the football club. I don’t think he deserves to play in midfield. Lavia is a better player.”
Fernandez, who arrived at Stamford Bridge with considerable fanfare, has found it difficult to replicate the form that saw him shine on the world stage.
With Chelsea’s overall performance dipping, the scrutiny on the young midfielder has only intensified.
