Victor Osimhen has downplayed any potential rivalry with his fellow forwards at Galatasaray, emphasizing teamwork and mutual growth in his new environment.

The Nigerian striker, who joined the Turkish Super Lig champions on loan from Napoli two weeks ago, faces competition from established stars such as Mauro Icardi, Michy Batshuayi, and Burak Yilmaz for a starting role.

Despite the fierce competition for playing time, Osimhen remains positive about the collective dynamic within the team.

“I knew that Galatasaray was a very good team before I came. I will try to contribute as well. There is no competition between us and the center forwards,” he told the club’s official website.

Osimhen also expressed his admiration for his teammates, praising their contributions to the game.

“Icardi is a legend of this game. Batshuayi is also a very important and deadly forward. I definitely have things to learn from both of them. I think we will cooperate with them.”

The 24-year-old made an immediate impact on his debut, registering an assist in Galatasaray’s commanding 5-0 victory over Caykur Rizespor at RAMS PARK.

Reflecting on the match, Osimhen was full of praise for the team’s performance and the warm welcome he received from the fans.

“First of all, I am very happy to be here. I came to this city for the first time. We met with our fans, and what we experienced was a great feeling. It was a very important match, and it was very valuable that we won the first match with a big difference,” he said.

The forward added that he is eager to continue building on the team’s momentum and is focused on winning every game. “I am happy here. We want to continue like this and win every match,” he added
