Chelsea winger Jadon Sancho has taken a subtle swipe at his former club, Manchester United, and their manager Erik ten Hag following his impressive debut for Chelsea in the Premier League clash against Bournemouth.

Sancho, who was named Player of the Match, expressed his happiness at Chelsea, hinting at his struggles at United during his three-year stint at Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old England international completed a surprise loan move to Chelsea on transfer deadline day, following a turbulent spell at Manchester United.

Despite high expectations when he joined United in 2021, Sancho’s time at the club was marred by inconsistency and limited playing opportunities under Erik ten Hag, leading to frustration and speculation about his future.

Speaking to Sky Sports after Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, where he assisted Christopher Nkunku’s opening goal, Sancho shared his joy at returning to the pitch.

“It’s amazing to make my debut for Chelsea, just being back playing, I’m very grateful. I’ve been working hard for this moment and I’m happy I got my chance,” he said.

Sancho further expressed how welcomed he felt at Chelsea, contrasting it with his experience at Manchester United. “I have to say thank you to the staff and team-mates.

The first day I came in, they made me feel welcome and I’m so happy to feel this comfortable,” he added.
