Under Okpebholo, Edo Will Witness Growth, Development And Prosperity — Ize-Iyamu

The 2020 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has extended his congratulations to Senator Monday Okpebholo for winning the state’s gubernatorial election.

Okpebholo, candidate of the APC, won the election, having polled 291,667 votes to defeat his closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 247,655 votes.

The candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Olumide Akpata came a distant third with a total of 22,763 votes.

Via a statement issued on Monday, Ize-Iyamu said he has absolute confidence that the people of Edo have made the right choice by electing Okpebholo.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations on your well-deserved election as the executive governor of Edo State,” he said.

“This is indeed a significant accomplishment, and I am confident that under your leadership, Edo State will witness a new era of growth, development, and prosperity.

“Your victory is a testament to the overwhelming support and trust the people of Edo State have placed in you. I thank them for their commitment to ensuring this success, and I have no doubt that you will honor that trust by delivering the uncommon transformation you have promised.”

In the same vein, Ize-Iyamu thanked President Bola Tinubu for “ensuring a level playing field” for all political parties who participated in the election.

He also appreciated the efforts of party members at the national level and lauded the “dedication and tireless work” of Adams Oshiomhole, former governor of Edo and senator representing Edo north.

“I would like to express my profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) for ensuring a level playing field for all political parties. This contributed to a free, fair, credible and transparent process,” Ize-Iyamu added.

“In addition, let me acknowledge the unparalleled support of- H.E. Senator Godswill Akpabio- President of the Nigerian Senate, H.E. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje- national chairman of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), the distinguished members of the progressive governors’ forum led by H. E. governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state, the members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC, as well as the members of the national assembly as their solidarity have been instrumental to the attainment of this historic feat.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the leaders and members of the Edo state chapter of the APC, led by comrade senator Adams Oshiomhole, for their unwavering dedication and tireless work.
