Joe Igbokwe, a prominent APC chieftain, has expressed concern over the alarming increase in Nigerian food prices, particularly the rising cost of rice

In a recent Facebook post, Igbokwe lamented the high cost of living, revealing that a bag of rice now sells for over N100,000, despite the numerous rice mills operating within the country.

According to him, the escalating prices of essential commodities have exacerbated the hardships faced by Nigerians, prompting him to question the leadership’s ability to manage the crisis.

“With all the rice mills we have in Nigeria, my wife just told me that a bag of rice is now N100k plus,” Igbokwe wrote.

He went further to remark, “Without sounding immodest, I am constrained to say that the men and women that will rescue this country from self-inflicted pains and tears are not born yet.”

Igbokwe, who has been a vocal supporter of President Bola Tinubu, recently took a more critical stance on some of the administration’s policies, particularly those affecting the economic welfare of citizens.
