The national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso has said it is only his party that can rescue Nigeria.
He said this on Thursday when he welcomed a large group of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters from Dala, Gwale, and Kiru LGAs of Kano state, to the NNPP.
The former governor of Kano advised every citizen of Nigeria to come together in efforts to bring change to the country.
He stated that Nigeria is presently faced with many challenges.
Kwankwaso talked about issues such as insecurity, inflation, hunger, poverty, and general dissatisfaction in the country.
“Nigerians and northerners in particular have suffered enough and no amount of pressure, fear and deceit will prevent them from changing the situation,” he said.
The NNPP leader also expressed confidence that in spite of the irregularities in the conduct of elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Nigerians are determined to bring about change.
“When the wind of change blows, you will see those who think they have security and INEC running helter-skelter. And Nigerians will make the right choice of those who will address their unfortunate situation,” Kwankwaso said.
Kwankwaso also appreciated the ex-APC members for joining the NNPP, saying that they now understand the need to leave their former party after seeing the current problems in the country, including insecurity, poverty, and hunger.
“I am also happy that you have realized that the NNPP is the only party that can rescue the country from the aforementioned challenges,” he said.
