Ademola Lookman scored twice in the first half for Atalanta, leading them to a 3-0 victory over Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Lookman’s goals in the 10th and 31st minutes put Napoli on the back foot, ending their recent winning streak.
Despite Napoli’s manager Antonio Conte’s strategic planning, Lookman proved too much to handle.
Conte had acknowledged the forward’s impact pre-match, warning, “This is a big danger because Atalanta are a strong team; they won the Europa League by ending Bayer Leverkusen’s season-long unbeaten record.”
Mateo Retegui sealed Atalanta’s victory in stoppage time, capping off a dominant display by the Bergamo-based side.
