Nigerian actor, Bimbo Manuel has disclosed the financial challenges faced by Nollywood actors, throwing light on industry realities.
During an appearance on TVC’s “Your View”, the thespian addressed the notion of wealth among Nigerian actors.
The veteran actor provided response to a host’s observation regarding the difference in transparency between Hollywood and Nollywood when it comes to divulging actor fees, ascribing the contrast to cultural and industry differences.
“The experience you had counts, it suggests to whoever wants to hire what fee you command. It is also not a fixed rate, it fluctuates.”
The 66 year-old also responded to the question of whether Nigerian actors are able to afford high-end vehicles through their acting careers alone.
“The actors you see flaunting Range Rovers and mansions in Ikoyi are living fake lives,” he stated. “There is no actor in Nigeria that would say he or she can buy a Range Rover from acting fees alone.”
