Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Aviation Minister and prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed his approval of the arrest and detention of Simon Ekpa, a key Biafra separatist leader, by Finnish authorities.
Ekpa, who claims to be the Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, was detained on charges of terrorism-related activities, including inciting violence in Nigeria.
In a post shared on his official X handle, Fani-Kayode described Ekpa’s arrest as “good news,” denouncing the separatist for his alleged role in orchestrating violence against Nigerians, particularly in the South-East region.
He criticized Ekpa for promoting divisive rhetoric that led to the deaths of innocent Nigerians, calling the detained agitator a “feral psychopath” and “hate-filled sociopath.”
“The arrest and detention of one Simon Ekpa by the Finnish authorities for terrorism-related charges and inciting terrorism in Nigeria is good news,” Fani-Kayode wrote.
“Not only is this misguided young man a feral psychopath, a hate-filled sociopath, a notorious coward and a man of blood, but he is also a religious bigot, an unrepentant racist, an ethnic supremacist and an enemy of humanity.”
The former aviation minister went on to accuse Ekpa of “deriving pleasure from killing and torturing our people” and waging war on Nigeria from the safety of Finland, where he had been living while allegedly coordinating violent acts from abroad.
According to Fani-Kayode, Ekpa’s rhetoric and calls for violence led to the deaths of many innocent Nigerians, particularly in the South-East, where the Biafra separatist movement has been most active.
Fani-Kayode further stated that Ekpa’s arrest serves as a “lesson” to others who may be promoting division, violence, and terror within Nigeria.
He emphasized that such actions must not be tolerated and that respect for the sanctity of human life should be upheld at all costs.
