The Kano State Government has implemented a new minimum wage of N71,000, marking a significant step towards improving the welfare of its workers.
Civil servants in Kano began receiving their salaries reflecting the new wage structure on November 25. The adjustment follows the government’s swift action on the committee report submitted earlier this month.
Speaking on the development, the Kano State Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa, urged workers to rededicate themselves to efficient service delivery.
He emphasized that the government’s commitment to improving workers’ welfare demands reciprocal dedication and excellence in public service.
Alhaji Musa also advised civil servants to manage their increased earnings wisely, cautioning against extravagant spending.
He encouraged them to use the increment to improve their living standards sustainably.
Additionally, he revealed that the state government has begun paying allowances owed to health workers as part of its broader strategy to support its workforce.
