“They Want My Show Canceled — Davido Alleges Over Podcast Comments

Afrobeats superstar, Davido, has revealed he is facing threats following his recent remarks on the state of the Nigerian economy during an appearance on the American podcast, Big Homies House.

In the interview, the Timeless hitmaker discouraged Americans from relocating to Africa, particularly Nigeria, describing the country’s economy as being in “shambles.”

His comments sparked widespread criticism, with several prominent figures, including Joe Igbokwe and Reno Omokri, publicly expressing their displeasure.

Responding to the backlash, Davido took to X  to address his critics, asserting that entertainers like himself are the true representatives of Nigeria on the global stage. “Y’all mad cus we the real ambassadors!” he wrote.

The controversy escalated when Davido claimed there were threats to cancel his scheduled Lagos concert this December as a result of his comments.
