Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has cast doubt over Chelsea’s Premier League title aspirations, arguing that the Blues must prove themselves against the league’s top teams before being considered genuine contenders.

Chelsea currently sit second in the table, trailing leaders Liverpool by two points.

However, Liverpool have a game in hand, giving them the edge in the early title race.

Under manager Enzo Maresca, Chelsea have delivered some impressive performances this season, raising hopes of a resurgence at Stamford Bridge.

Despite their progress, Henry remains unconvinced. Speaking on Monday Night Football, the former Arsenal striker said,

“They still didn’t beat a big team. Show me you can beat Liverpool, show me you can beat City, show me you can beat Arsenal.”

Chelsea’s record against top-tier opponents supports Henry’s skepticism.

They suffered a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on the opening day of the season, followed by a 2-1 loss at Anfield to Liverpool.

Subsequent matches against Manchester United and Arsenal ended in 1-1 draws, highlighting their struggles to claim decisive victories in high-stakes clashes.
