Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has promised to return stronger after undergoing surgery to repair a torn hamstring.
The 22-year-old star is expected to be sidelined for around two months following the injury, which he sustained during Arsenal’s 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace earlier this month.
In an emotional update shared from his hospital bed, Saka posted a picture on social media with the caption: “The majority see obstacles, but few see the opportunities.Recovery has begun and I’m coming back stronger! Thank you all for your messages #GodsPlan.”
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed the successful procedure during his post-match interview following Arsenal’s narrow 1-0 win over Ipswich on Friday. “He had a procedure. Everything went well, but unfortunately, he will be out for many, many weeks,” Arteta revealed.
Pressed further on the timeline for Saka’s return, Arteta added, “I said many weeks, so I think it will be more than two months. I don’t know exactly how much longer. It will depend on how the scar tissue starts to heal, the first week or so, and the mobility of that. Let’s see; it’s very difficult to say.”
