“All we have to do is show the same level of consistency and a bit more,”

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s boss, affirmed that the team has the potential to win the Premier League, but emphasized that signing new players in the January transfer window doesn’t guarantee success.

As the Gunners prepare to face Brighton on Saturday, they trail league leaders Liverpool by six points, with the Reds still holding a game in hand.

Arsenal fans have been vocal in their calls for reinforcements in the January window to boost their chances of securing their first league title since the Invincibles of 2004.

However, Arteta urged his team to focus on refining the fine margins that have so far kept them from glory.

“All we have to do is show the same level of consistency and a bit more,” Arteta said.

“Because in the last year, we’ve been the best team in the league, broken various records, and still haven’t won a major trophy. So something is missing.

“It can be very tiny, small details—certain games, certain situations—but at the end, we are so close. We just need to flip that coin to the other side to make it happen.”

Arsenal’s resurgence under Arteta has been remarkable. Last season, they were in contention for the title for much of the campaign before faltering in the final stretch, allowing Manchester City to snatch the crown.

This season, they’ve built on their progress, maintaining a strong position near the top of the table.

Yet, for all their consistency and improvements, the Gunners remain without a major trophy since their FA Cup triumph in 2020 under Arteta.

The Spaniard believes the solution lies not just in squad depth but in the mindset and execution of the players.

While Arteta acknowledged the importance of squad additions, he emphasized that any new arrivals must integrate seamlessly into the team’s ethos.

“Signing somebody is not enough,” he said. “It’s about the collective effort, the desire, and the ability to deliver under pressure in those critical moments.”

Arteta has issued a rallying cry to his players, urging them to rise to the challenge and deliver the prestigious title Arsenal fans crave.

“We’ve shown we’re capable, but now it’s time to go that extra step. It’s about believing, fighting, and showing we can compete at the very highest level consistently.”
