Manchester City have completed the signing of Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal worth €70m (£59m), with potential add-ons increasing the fee to £63m.

The 25-year-old has signed a contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until June 2029.

Marmoush has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 15 goals in 17 Bundesliga appearances—only one goal behind Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane. His impressive performances caught the attention of City, who moved swiftly to secure his signature.

Expressing his excitement about the move, Marmoush described joining Manchester City as a “dream come true.” He stated, “It’s a pleasure and an honour for me and my family to represent this club. My dreams are becoming a reality.”

A versatile attacker capable of playing as a striker, attacking midfielder, or winger, Marmoush highlighted his speed, ball control, and tactical awareness as key attributes. “I always want to win—that’s my main strength,” he added.

Manchester City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain, praised Marmoush’s qualities, calling him a player with “outstanding pace and awareness” and emphasizing that his versatility will be a valuable asset for Pep Guardiola’s squad.

Marmoush began his professional career with Wadi Degla in Egypt before moving to Germany with VfL Wolfsburg in 2020.

He gained experience through loan spells at FC St Pauli and VfB Stuttgart before joining Frankfurt in 2023. Over his time at the club, he scored 37 goals and provided 20 assists in 67 appearances.

The Egyptian forward is City’s latest addition in the January transfer window, alongside Brazilian defender Vitor Reis from Palmeiras (£30m) and Uzbekistan’s Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens (£34m).
