Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has advised the impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, to accept his fate and move on.
In a post on X, Sani emphasized that Obasa should be grateful for the privilege of serving in the position for an extended period, adding that posterity would judge his tenure.
“Hon Obasa should just thank his God, accept his fate, and calm down. It’s a rare privilege to occupy that seat and serve for that long. Not everyone can be that lucky in life. Allow the Honorable lady speaker to do her job; if he is actually good, posterity will vindicate him,” Sani wrote.
Obasa was impeached by lawmakers while he was in the United States, leading to the swearing-in of Mojisola Meranda as his successor.
However, upon his return to Nigeria, Obasa insisted that he remained the Speaker, arguing that due process had not been followed in his removal.
