The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has withdrawn approval for the admission of students into the Law programme at eight Nigerian universities.

In a statement released by JAMB’s Public Communications Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the decision follows the suspension of the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme by the Council of Legal Education (CLE) for the 2025/2026 academic session due to violations of regulatory procedures.

The affected institutions include:

Kwara State University, Malete, Ilorin, Kwara State

Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State

Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State

Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State

Taraba State University, Jalingo, Taraba State

Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo, Cross River State

Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State

Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State

Additionally, JAMB announced that the Nigerian Police Academy has been barred from admitting students into its Law programme for two academic sessions—2025/2026 and 2026/2027—further highlighting the regulatory crackdown on institutions failing to meet legal education standards.
