“If Heaven Accepts Corrupt Politicians, I Want No Part of It” — Seun Kuti

Renowned Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has sparked discussions after declaring that he would leave heaven if he finds any Nigerian politician there.

In a recent Instagram Live session, Kuti criticized Nigerian politicians, questioning why many of them still hope to make heaven despite their alleged corrupt practices.

He expressed disbelief that figures responsible for the country’s struggles still associate themselves with religious ideals of righteousness.

“Despite how corrupt Nigerian politicians are, they still want to make heaven. Yemi Osinbajo is also a pastor. With everything happening in this country, these politicians still want to go to heaven,” he said.

He further asserted that if he were to die and find out that the conventional Christian and Muslim concept of heaven exists, he would rather leave than share the space with Nigerian politicians.

“If I died and the Christian and Muslim fantasy heaven happens to be true and I see one single Nigerian politician there, I will go outside. Because that would mean there’s corruption in heaven.”
