Major General Chris Jemitola (rtd), a former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, has passed away after collapsing at the IBB Golf Club in Abuja.
The tragic incident occurred on the morning of Thursday, February 6, 2025. According to family sources, Jemitola was immediately rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Jemitola, who served as Obasanjo’s ADC from 2003 to 2007 while holding the rank of colonel, had a distinguished military career.
He later became the Director of Defence Information and subsequently served as the Defence Attaché at the Nigerian Embassy in Brazil.
In 2014, he was promoted to the rank of Major General and later assumed the role of Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP) of the Nigerian Army before his retirement.
Beyond his military service, Jemitola contributed to the private sector as the Senior Advisor for Military Communications at Pinnacle Communications Limited as of 2019.
