Ghanaian actor, farmer, and entrepreneur John Kofi Setor Dumelo has been appointed as the Deputy Minister-designate for Food and Agriculture in Ghana.
Dumelo, who currently represents the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, has been a strong advocate for agriculture and youth participation in the sector.
His appointment reflects the government’s commitment to leveraging expertise from various sectors to drive agricultural development.
Born on February 3, 1984, Dumelo had his early education at Christ the King School in Accra before proceeding to Achimota School, where he was an active member of the Drama Club.
He later pursued Civil Engineering at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and furthered his studies at GIMPA’s School of Public Service and Governance.
Dumelo’s career spans multiple industries. He gained prominence as an actor, debuting in the 1992 movie Baby Thief while still in school.
Over the years, he has also established himself as a dedicated farmer, actively promoting agriculture as a viable career path for Ghanaian youth.
