Former President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that Nigeria witnessed significant improvements in security and economic stability during his eight-year tenure.
Buhari made the remarks on Wednesday, February 5, while receiving members of the Katsina State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists at his residence in Daura, Katsina State.
Reflecting on his time in office, Buhari noted that his administration inherited major security and economic challenges from the previous People’s Democratic Party (PDP)-led government in 2015.
He emphasized that tackling issues such as terrorism and economic instability was a priority throughout his tenure.
“Nigeria’s security and economy improved significantly under my administration compared to what we met in 2015,” he said.
The former president expressed confidence that the progress made under his leadership would serve as a foundation for continued national development.
Buhari’s comments come amid ongoing debates about the state of Nigeria’s economy and security situation under the current administration.
