Vice President Kashim Shettima has assured former Vice President Atiku Abubakar that despite his deep respect for him, political jabs will not be off the table as the 2027 general elections approach.

Shettima made the lighthearted remark on Thursday, February 6, while recognizing dignitaries at a symposium in Abuja marking the 60th birthday of former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi.

Addressing Atiku, Shettima recalled his role during the 2023 presidential election, referring to himself as an “adjunct provocateur” who took “hot shots” at the former vice president.

However, he commended Atiku for handling the criticisms with calmness.

Shettima also revealed that in private conversations, he respectfully addresses Atiku as “Baba.” Nonetheless, he humorously warned that as the next election cycle draws near, Atiku should expect more of his sharp political remarks.
