The Central Working Committee (CWC) of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has directed workers and other willing citizens to boycott the services of telecommunications giants MTN, Airtel, and Glo starting from 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 13, 2025, in protest against recent tariff hikes.

The directive was issued in a statement signed by NLC President Joe Ajaero and General Secretary Emmanuel Ugboaja on Wednesday.

The union is demanding an immediate reversal of the tariff increase, which took effect earlier this week, urging telecom companies to revert to their previous rates until a final agreement is reached.

As part of its resistance strategy, the NLC announced that the boycott will take place daily between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM and will continue until the end of February 2025.

The union insists that the tariff hike is arbitrary and unjustified, arguing that it places an additional financial burden on Nigerians already struggling with the high cost of living
