Popular On-Air Personality (OAP), Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, widely known as Nedu Wazobia, has announced his resignation as a host of the Honest Bunch Podcast following a heated controversy with social critic Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan (VDM).
The dispute erupted after comedian Deeone appeared on the podcast, making allegations about VDM’s personal life.
Deeone claimed that VDM was involved in same-sex activities and had allegedly received money for such engagements.
In response, VDM accused Nedu of deliberately bringing Deeone onto the show to tarnish his image.
He further escalated the issue by revealing alleged personal details about Nedu’s past, including claims about the women he had been involved with.
Some of the women mentioned, however, came forward to deny any romantic ties with Nedu, asserting that their interactions were purely professional.
Amid the controversy, Nedu took to social media to announce his decision to step down from the podcast, citing personal well-being and the integrity of the show as key reasons.
In his official statement, he said:
“The past week has brought a lot into perspective for me. Hosting The Honest Bunch Podcast has been an incredible journey—one built on open conversations, bold perspectives, and the willingness to tackle difficult topics. But with that responsibility has come an overwhelming level of scrutiny, antagonism, and unfounded accusations that have now begun to take a personal toll.
“In light of recent events, I have made the difficult decision to step away from the podcast. This is not a decision I take lightly, but one I believe is necessary—for my peace of mind, for my family, and for the integrity of the show itself.”
Nedu expressed hope that his exit would put an end to the negativity surrounding his name and allow the podcast to continue flourishing.
He also assured his fans of his commitment to meaningful conversations in other capacities.
