Manchester United are reportedly exploring a potential swap deal to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, offering €40 million plus Rasmus Højlund in return.
United have long been linked with the Nigerian forward, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray.
However, Osimhen is set to return to Napoli at the end of the season, with a €75 million release clause in his contract.
According to Calciomercato.com (via Football Italia), Manchester United are hesitant to meet Osimhen’s full transfer fee but are considering a player-plus-cash offer to secure his services.
Earlier reports from La Repubblica in January suggested that United were interested in signing Osimhen during the winter transfer window, but the striker opted to remain at Galatasaray for the remainder of the season.
Since joining the Turkish giants on loan, Osimhen has been in outstanding form, scoring 14 goals and providing four assists in 19 Turkish Süper Lig appearances.
He has also impressed in European competition, netting six goals and one assist in seven UEFA Europa League matches.
Overall, the 26-year-old Super Eagles star has contributed 20 goals and five assists in 26 matches across all competitions this season.
Meanwhile, Højlund has struggled in the 2024-25 campaign with Manchester United, managing just seven goals and one assist in 32 appearances across all competitions.
