Phrank Shaibu, Special Adviser on Public Communication to former presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has criticized Unoma Akpabio, wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, over her response to sexual harassment allegations made by Senator Natasha Akpoti.
Shaibu dismissed Unoma’s remarks, in which she rejected Natasha,s claims, as laughable.
The controversy began following the recent reshuffling of lawmakers seating arrangements in the Senate, which led to a heated exchange between Natasha and Akpabio.
During the altercation, Natasha boldly declared that she was not afraid of the Senate President.
On Friday, Natasha provided details of her allegations, claiming Akpabio had made inappropriate advances toward her in the presence of her husband.
According to her, the Senate President invited her to his house, promising certain privileges in return for a good time.
She compared her ordeal to that of a student being victimized for refusing to sleep with a lecturer.
Unoma Akpabio, however, dismissed the allegations, accusing Natasha of fabricating the claims for personal gain.
Speaking at a press conference, she expressed disappointment that Natasha’s husband, Emmanuel Uduaghan, did not personally reach out to her, considering their friendship.
Reacting via X, Shaibu criticized Unoma stance, writing: So, madam truly believes that High Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, the revered Alema of Warri Kingdom, should have personally reached out to her to lament that the Uncommon Transformer harbored indecent intentions toward his wife? That he didn’t t call to say your hubby wanted to f*ck his wife makes the account of @NatashaAkpoti false? What a joke
Meanwhile, Unoma Akpabio has taken legal action against Natasha, demanding N250 billion in damages over the allegations.
