Bauchi Man Beats Wife to Death Over Ramadan Food

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 50-year-old businessman, Alhaji Nuru Isah, for allegedly beating his wife, Wasila Abdullahi, to death with a cane following a disagreement over food meant for breaking the Ramadan fast.

The tragic incident occurred near Government Girls College, Fadamam, Mada Area, Bauchi, late on the night of March 1, 2025. According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Ahmed Wakil, the dispute escalated into violence, leading to the 24-year-old woman’s collapse.

“On March 1, 2025, at about 11:30 PM, the Bauchi State Police Command was alerted to an alleged culpable homicide incident. The misunderstanding between Alhaji Nuru Isah and his second wife, Wasila Abdullahi, over the handling of food ingredients and fruits for breaking the fast led to a violent confrontation,” Wakil stated.

After the attack, Wasila was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), where doctors confirmed her death.

The Bauchi State Police Command has launched a thorough investigation, and the suspect is currently in custody. The Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Muhammad, assured the public that justice would be served.
