The European Union has strongly criticized Russia’s latest wave of missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian cities, with EU foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, declaring that Russian President Vladimir Putin has “no interest in peace.”

Kallas made the statement following a weekend of intense bombardment that left several areas in Ukraine devastated.

She described the attacks as “relentless” and a clear indication that Moscow is not committed to ending the conflict through dialogue.

“We must step up our military support. Otherwise, even more Ukrainian civilians will pay the highest price,” she said.

Despite ongoing international efforts aimed at finding a peaceful resolution to the war, Russia’s continued offensive has cast a shadow over diplomatic hopes.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is reportedly working to strengthen ties with former U.S. President Donald Trump after a tense meeting at the White House last month.

Zelenskyy has expressed willingness to sign a minerals trade deal with the United States as part of efforts to boost Ukraine’s economy and secure international support.

Ukraine continues to face growing challenges on the battlefield. Reports indicate that combined North Korean and Russian forces have pushed through Ukrainian lines in the contested Kursk region, an area Ukrainian forces had held for the past seven months.

The situation is further complicated by the U.S. decision to suspend intelligence-sharing operations and temporarily halt weapons deliveries to Kyiv—moves that have dealt a serious blow to Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
