Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a couple, identified as Emmanuel and Mmesoma Okafor, for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting an online vendor in the Iyana Ishashi area of Lagos.

The Command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this during a press briefing held on Monday, March 10.

According to him, the victim had gone to deliver a product to a customer when she was forcefully dragged into a house by the suspects.

“The victim received a product request and proceeded to the customer’s residence in Iyana Ishashi. Upon arrival, she was ambushed and dragged inside by a man and a woman,” Hundeyin said.

The suspects, later identified as the Okafors, allegedly assaulted the victim, stripped her naked, and took indecent photographs of her.

They reportedly demanded a ransom of N2 million and threatened to release the images if the money was not paid.

“The victim was compelled to pay N300,000 on the spot before she was released,” the spokesperson added. “She was further threatened that the pictures would be leaked if she failed to pay the balance.”
