The Association of Arewa Yoruba Youths (AAYY) has criticized the recent comments made by a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Ushie Rita Uguamaye, popularly known as Raye, over her remarks against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the National Coordinator of the group, Ambassador Lawal Hussein Taiye, expressed concern over what he described as personal attacks on the President, urging citizens to adopt a more constructive approach in expressing their grievances.

“While we recognize that Nigerians are going through tough times, it is clear that the policies of President Tinubu are gradually yielding positive results. Instead of resorting to abusive language, we should focus on solutions that address these national challenges,” Hussein stated.

The group emphasized the need for civility in public discourse, stressing that communication should be aimed at achieving progress rather than fueling division.

“There are effective and respectful ways to convey concerns to leadership. As a civilized society, we must promote dialogue and mutual respect to build a stronger and more united nation,” he added.

Hussein, who also doubles as the National Coordinator of the Tinubu Mukeso Group, cautioned against politicizing the issue, alleging that some political actors have taken advantage of the situation for personal gain.

He further noted that every administration inherits existing challenges, and the Tinubu government is working to implement long-term solutions.

“For Nigeria to move forward, we need to embrace criticism that is solution-driven and geared toward national growth,” he said. “Reckless utterances only derail efforts at development and breed disunity.”

The group also called on Nigerians to view the country’s diversity as a source of strength and unity, urging everyone to remain committed to the collective progress of the nation.
