Arsenal Set to Open Contract Talks with Star Winger Bukayo Saka
Arsenal are reportedly preparing to open fresh contract talks with Bukayo Saka, according to a report by the BBC.
Saka, 23, is currently tied to the North London club until 2027, but with three years remaining on his deal, the Gunners are keen to secure his long-term future and avoid any risk of a potential drop in market value.
The England international has grown into one of Arsenal’s most influential players in recent seasons.
His recent absence due to a hamstring injury has further highlighted his importance to Mikel Arteta’s side, with the team missing his creativity and attacking spark on the right flank.
Saka is believed to be earning around £200,000 a week at the Emirates, but with his rising profile and continued development, a new deal could come with improved terms to reflect his status at the club.
Following Arsenal’s victory over Chelsea on Sunday, manager Mikel Arteta expressed optimism about Bukayo Saka’s recovery, suggesting the winger has a strong chance of returning shortly after the ongoing international break.
The Gunners are set to host Fulham at the Emirates Stadium on 1 April in their next Premier League fixture
Saka is not the only player approaching the final stages of his contract. Midfielders Thomas Partey and Jorginho are both set to become free agents at the end of the current season, with no renewal confirmed as yet
Leandro Trossard, whose contract runs until the summer of 2026, has already entered preliminary discussions regarding an extension.
Notably, key first-team players such as Saka, William Saliba, and Gabriel Magalhães all have deals that are due to expire in 2027.
Speaking earlier this month on his own contract situation, Saliba revealed that formal negotiations are yet to begin but reaffirmed his commitment, stating: “I’m really happy here, and I want to continue at the club.”
Discussions are expected to begin in the coming weeks as Arsenal look to keep one of their brightest talents committed for the long haul.
