FIFA has announced a record-breaking $125 million prize for the winner of the newly expanded Club World Cup, set to take place from June 14 to July 13.

The tournament, featuring 32 teams, will have a total prize pool of $1 billion.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed the details in a statement on Wednesday, highlighting how the funds will be distributed.

Each participating team will receive a share of the $525 million allocated for participation, while an additional $475 million will be awarded based on performance.

The champion, after playing up to seven matches, could earn the maximum prize of $125 million, including bonuses. European clubs stand to gain the most, receiving between $12.81 million and $38.19 million based on sporting and commercial factors.

South American teams will each get $15.21 million, while clubs from North and Central America, the Caribbean, Asia, and Africa will receive $9.55 million each. Oceania’s sole representative, Auckland City, will take home $3.58 million.

Infantino emphasized that this prize structure represents the most lucrative financial distribution in a club competition with both group and knockout stages.

He also revealed an unprecedented $250 million solidarity program aimed at supporting global football development.

“All revenue from the tournament will be reinvested to strengthen club football worldwide,” Infantino stated.

The new Club World Cup format is expected to elevate the tournament’s global appeal while offering clubs financial incentives and competitive opportunities on the world stage.
