The Rivers State Government has approved the payment of March 2025 salaries for civil servants, pensioners, and suspended political appointees.
This was confirmed in a statement issued on Friday by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Worika, who disclosed that the approval was granted by the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral (Rtd) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas CFR.
According to the statement, the Sole Administrator has directed the Accountant-General to ensure the prompt processing of payments, emphasizing the need for efficiency in salary disbursement.
The decision, the statement noted, is in line with the government’s commitment to meeting its financial obligations to workers and retirees in the state.
The approval comes amid heightened expectations from civil servants and pensioners regarding the state’s financial management, particularly in light of recent economic challenges.
The government reassured workers of its dedication to their welfare and urged them to remain committed to their duties.
