The Kano State Police Command has officially invited the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, for questioning over the alleged killing of individuals during the recent Eid-el-Fitr celebration in the state.
Reports indicate that the unfortunate incident occurred on Sunday during the festive celebration when members of a local vigilance group, said to be part of the Emir’s entourage, were reportedly attacked and killed by unknown assailants.
The police have directed Emir Sanusi to appear before the Force Intelligence Department headquarters in Abuja on April 8, 2025, for further interrogation as part of ongoing investigations into the incident.
Police authorities in Kano have assured the public of their commitment to ensuring justice and maintaining peace across the state.
