Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called on U.S. President Donald Trump to visit Ukraine and witness firsthand the destruction caused by Russian forces.

In an interview with CBS on Sunday, Zelenskyy extended an invitation to Trump, urging him to experience the reality of the war before making any decisions or engaging in negotiations.

“Please, before any kind of decisions, any kind of forms of negotiations, come to see people, civilians, warriors, hospitals, churches, children destroyed or dead,” he stated.

The appeal comes amid renewed Russian missile attacks that struck the northern Ukrainian city of Sumy early Sunday.

According to local officials, two ballistic missiles hit the city center during Palm Sunday, killing at least 34 people and injuring 83 others.

The tragic incident has raised concerns about civilian safety and could influence U.S. foreign policy discussions, especially as Trump continues to express interest in negotiating a peaceful resolution to the conflict by engaging directly with Moscow.

Meanwhile, the Turkish Defense Ministry has announced that military representatives from Turkey and other nations will gather in Turkey on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The meeting aims to discuss Black Sea security and explore possible scenarios in the event of a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.
